Hi, I’m Sam - the creator of Francis the Fearful Frenchie and the world of Daffodil Street 💛
Anyone who knows me knows how much I’ve always loved stories - writing them, sharing them, and most of all, seeing the joy they bring to children. There’s something really special about a book that makes a child laugh, feel understood, or want to read it again and again and that’s exactly what I’ve always wanted to create.
This journey began during my maternity leave, when an idea that had been quietly sitting in the background finally had the space to grow. What started as a small project soon became something much bigger - a story brought to life with the help of a wonderful illustrator, and inspired by the dogs that fill my life (and my heart) every day.
At the centre of it all is a little Frenchie named Francis - a character inspired by my own dog, Geoff, whose personality (and very loud snoring!) helped shape this story from the very beginning 🐾
Francis the Fearful Frenchie is just the start. The Dogs of Daffodil Street is a growing series designed for children aged 3–8, with stories that are gentle, engaging, and full of heart - helping little ones navigate big feelings, one story at a time.
